Engine Cylinder Head Removal and Installation guide

Here is how Removal and installation of cylinder head of ISUZU engine 4JJ1 Euro 4 N Series

Removal

1.Remove the engine cover.

Remove the oil filler cap, and remove the engine cover.



2. Disconnect the injector harness connector (2) and leak-off hose(1).

NOTE: Do not reuse the clip(1) of the leak-off hose.



3.Remove the cylinder head cover.
Remove the vacuum sensor bracket and the EVRV bracket from the cylinder head cover.

NOTE: Do not damage the lip section of the oil seal with the connector of the injector.



4. Remove the camshaft end gasket(1).
Clean the liquid gasket remaining on the cylinder head.



5. Remove the oil seal.

When removing the oil seal from the cylinder head cover, remove it from under the cylinder head cover.

Installation

1. Install the oil seal.

Insert the oil seal from the bottom of the cylinder head cover until it touches the end.

Install the camshaft end gasket(1).

2. Install the camshaft end gasket(1).
a. Apply liquid gasket(TB-1207B or equivalent) to the area indicated in the diagram(2) with a width of 2.0 to .0mm(0.079 to 0.118 in)(a), and install it to the cylinder head.


3. Install the cylinder head cover and tighten in the order shown in the diagram.
Tightening torque:10 N-m(1.0kg-m/87 lb-in)




a. Apply liquid gasket(TB-1207B or equivalent) to the area indicated in the diagram (2) with a width of 2.0 to 3.0 mm(0.079 to 0.118 in)(a), and install it to the cylinder head.

b. Apply liquid gasket(TB-1207B or equivalent) to the area indicated in the diagram(c) with.

3. Install the cylinder head cover and tighten in the order shown in the diagram.

Tightening torque:10 N-m(1.0kg-m/87 lbin)



4 ,Install the vacuum sensor bracket and the EVRV bracket to the cylinder head cover.
5. Install the leak-off hose(1) and the injector harness connector(2).

6. Install the engine cover, and then tighten the bolt and at the specified torque.
Tightening torque:25 N-m(2.5kg-m/18 lb-ft)
7. Install the oil fler cap.
