5. Crankshaft rear oil seal
Removal
1.Remove the flywheel.
Refer to "Flywheel"in this Section.
2.Remove the flywheel housing
3.Remove the retainer

·Remove the retainer with the oil seal on.
4.Remove the oil seal from the retainer.
5.Remove the slinger.

Special Tool Slinger puller:5-8840-2360-0
6. Remove the bearing stopper.(M/T vehicles)· Use a general puller to remove the bearing stopper.

Installation
1. Install the retainer.
Refer to"Oil Pan and Crank Case"in Section 1H, Engine Lubrication.
2. Install the flywheel housing.
Refer to "Oil Pan and Crank Case"in Section 1H, Engine Lubrication.
3. Install the oil seal and slinger.
· Use the rear oil seal installer to assemble the slinger and rear oil seal and firmly fit them.
NOTE: Do not reuse the oil seal Special Tool Rear oil seal installer:
5-8840-2991-0
NOTE: Use the following table from the contents of the installation of the oil seal.

6. Bolt (M12×1.75,L=55mm(2.17 in)
7. Bolt a. Insert the oil seal and slinger to the outer circumference of the adaptor.
b. Tighten the adaptor to the rear end of the crankshaft using two bolts.
c. Insert the sleeve to the adaptor section, and tighten by a bolt(M12x 1.75,L=55 mm(2.17
in)) until the adaptor section touches the sleeve.
d. Remove the adaptor and sleeve.
e. After installing the oil seal, confirm that the dimension from the end surface of the crankshaft(c) to the end surface of the oil seal
(b) is within the specified value(a).

4. Install the bearing stopper.
5. Install the flywheel.
