Disassembly
1.Remove the 3 tightening bolts.
NOTE: If the case has been removed, perform any procedures with a soft, clean oil mat, etc., placed below as parts may fall out and otherwise be damaged.
2. Remove the housing from the plate.
NOTE: Tighten the 3 bolts for separating the vacuum pump until they are flush with the plate mounting surface.
Legend
1.Plate mounting surface NOTE:
Evenly tap the heads of the separation bolts with aplastic hammer until the housing separates from the knock pin.
CAUTION: The internal vane may be damaged if the vacuum pump falls, so take care not to raise it too high from the working table with the oil mat spread over it.3. Place alignment marks on the vane and rotor.
Legend
1. Alignment marks CAUTION: Make sure to place alignment marks in the original location of the vane so it can be reused if, after inspection, no abnormal conditions are found.
4. Remove the vane from the rotor.

5.Remove the rotor from the shaft.
Inspection
1.Inspect the vane.
CAUTION: Replace the vane if there are scratches large enough for the claws to catch or if the vane thickness is 4.5mm or less.

1. Install the new O-ring to the plate.
NOTE: Lightly apply engine oil to the O-ring, and firmly install to the plate groove.
Legend
1. Shaft CAUTION: To prevent the vane from falling, first install the rotor to the shaft, and then install the vane.
3. Install the vane to the rotor.
NOTE:
· If installing a new vane, install with the R section facing outward.
· First align the vane and rotor alignment marks, and then set the R section near the O-ring facing outward before finally pressing on the lower side of the vane with your fingers.
CAUTION:
. Take care not to let the vane ride up on the shaft cam ring.
· Do not reuse the vane if it has been dropped.
NOTE: Install so that the upper section of the rotor and the end of the vane are flush.

4. Install the housing to the plate.
NOTE:
· Confirm that the vane does not protrude past the upper section of the rotor, and then align the knock pin positions and install while rotating the housing to the left and right.
· Confirm that the clearance of the housing and plate surface is 0.5 mm or less.
NOTE: Face the gear upwards and confirm that it rotates smoothly.
CAUTION: Do not rotate the gear facing sideways as it wi damage the vane.
5. Evenly tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque.
NOTE: Face the gear upwards and confirm that it rotates smoothly.
CAUTION: If an abnormal condition such as interference is found, either reassemble from the beginning, or replace the vacuum pump as an assembly.
Installation
